The Sweetest Life | Simple Stores Design Team

Hey friends! I’m here today for the Simple Stories Design Team sharing a new layout using the absolutely stunning Lemon Twist collection. This collection has the prettiest patterns and I’m loving the teal, yellow and black color combo. Here’s my layout:

I love creating grid layouts and when I choose to use smaller pieces, it can sometimes get a bit tricky to get them all aligned. Page Template -Design 7 is the perfect guide to use when designing a grid with 2×2 squares! I placed the template on the base of my layout, placed each square right in and that was it! I used the 6×8 Paper Pad to trim out my 2×2 squares and used the Warm White Color Vibe cardstock as the base. I trimmed a 1″ inch strip from the right and top sides of my base and adhered it to a Black piece of cardstock. I love how much it all pops!

I distressed the edges of all of my squares and popped them up on foam tape for more some dimension and interest.

For my title, I chose to mix a few of the words from the Foam Stickers sheet and added onto it using the Basics Alpha Sticker Book.

I just love the look of a grid design and they’re so fun to embellish! I love treating them as if they’re all separate little layouts. It’s a good way to use up some tiny bits or scraps in your stash too!

Next, I added a few butterflies from the Bits + Pieces pack and arranged them as if they were flying up on my page. I also layered a few of the Floral Bits + Pieces and love how they look.

Here’s another look at the floral pieces. I pulled a few circular elements from the Sticker Book and adhered those around my page. I also layered a few of the Decorative Brads with them.

Creating grids is great way to get a lot of patterns onto one page. I like to use a plain white or solid color background as my base so that the grid pieces aren’t competing with it. When using a grid, all of the patterns end up being cohesive and it just works!!

Thank you so much for stopping by today and I hope that I’ve inspired you in some way! Have you tried a grid design? If you struggle with getting everything lined up, you should definitely check out the Page Templates that Simple Stories has! They really are a game changer and they can make the process so much easier. See you in my next post friends!

Scrub-A-Dub-Dub | Bella Blvd Creative Team

Hey y’all! I’m here today for the Bella Blvd Creative Team sharing a new layout using the super adorable Tiny Tots 2.0 collection.  I’m currently obsessed with triangles and thought it would be fun to create large ones as main elements on my page.

IMG_4956 2

To start, I traced and cut out triangles using the Plaids and Dotty paper in Bell Pepper as well as the Graph & Dot paper in Ice.  I ran each one through my sewing machine using the opposite color of thread for my stitching.  So for the Bell Pepper papers, I used blue thread and for the Ice papers, I used yellow thread.  I popped them all up on foam tape and adhered them to a piece of white cardstock that I trimmed down to 11×11.  I adhered that piece to the top of the Be Brave 12×12 patterned paper and ran that through my sewing machine.

IMG_4962

I used the four triangles as placements for my title, photo and embellishments.  I made my title using the Aria Alphas in White and the Wonky Alphas in Bell Pepper.  My photo is of my oldest son Noah, while he was taking a bath in his old blow up rubber ducky bathtub.  It was the cutest thing and this photo was perfect to use with this collection.  He was almost two in this photo and I can’t believe how quickly time flies by!  He’s going to be sixteen in August!

IMG_4957 2

I matted my photo using a few other patterned papers and adhered it down to the triangle on the far right.  I added the cute rubber ducky Trinket Puffy sticker as well as some Ephemera icons that look like bubbles.

IMG_4961

A yellow Cute Clip was the perfect addition to my photo and added that nice pop of color.

IMG_4960

I had so much fun embellishing using more Ephemera Icons and Words and Ciao Chip Chipboard stickers.

Here’s one last photo of my page:

Thank you so much for stopping by today, I hope that I’ve inspired you in some way!  Have you incorporated triangles into your pages?  They’re fun to create with and make great spots for your embellishments and photos.  See you in my next post friends!

You Shine | Pinkfresh Studio Creative Team

Hey friends!  I’m here today for the Pinkfresh Studio Creative Team sharing a new layout with y’all today using the Happy Heart collection as well as a few leafy metal dies.  Here’s my layout:

I love layering chipboard frames and creating a design with them so I thought I would do that same technique using the frames in this collection.  Instead of my usual go to of aligning them either vertically or horizontally, I decided to try a circle wreath and I LOVE how it turned out!  First, I traced a circle on the Reasons To Smile patterned paper and working with the largest frames first, I adhered those down and worked my way through the medium sizes all the way down to the itty bitty frames.  I made sure to tilt them here and there and tuck and layer each one into the next frame.

You can see the dimension and interest of all of the frames stacked and layered together.

For my title, I chose two phrases from the Title Ephemera pack and adhered them right on top of the frames.  Super simple and it really pops!

I matted my photo with vellum and adhered it to the top right of my wreath.  I usually place it on either the left or right bottom parts but decided to try something new.  I tucked in a few of the Floral Ephemera around my photo and even added more of them around the wreath for extra pops of color.

Next, I die cut several leave pieces using both the Curvy Foliage and Leafy Branch metal dies.  I trimmed them down to create smaller leaves and tucked them around my wreath.  I also added bits of tangled thread in coordinating colors.

I also added in some Puffy Stickers and a few Essentials Crystals in a blue tone.

That wraps up this fun layout!  I always like to try new things and always strive to create something different each time I make a layout.  I really like how my wreath turned out and the layered chipboard frames give this page a lot of texture and dimension.  I hope you like it!  I’ll see you in my next post friends!

National Dog Moms Day | Bella Blvd Creative Team

Hey friends!  Brianna Lepper here for the Bella Blvd Creative Team and Happy National Dog Moms Day to my fellow dog Mamas!  I was so excited to be able to create a layout for this special day since I have three furry babies of my own.  I documented this photo of me and my dog Pippa using the Cooper collection.  Here’s my layout, don’t forget to check out my process video at the end of this post:

IMG_4674

I chose to use the Faithful Friend Cut Out and picked the heart/paw print design.  I decided to use this specific one as both a stencil and layering piece on my page.  When I’ve sprayed Cut Outs or cut files in the past, I’ve always liked the way the scrap paper looked after I had sprayed it.  So before I sprayed the Cut Out, I decided to position it in a permanent place so that I could layer the Cut Out right back on it after everything was finished drying.

IMG_4681

To start, I took out my Shimmerz Paints sprays in bright and happy colors and sprayed them on in rainbow order.  Starting with pink, working my way to peach, yellow, green and blue.

IMG_4675

I embellished tone on tone using the Ephemera Words and Icons packs.

IMG_4677

Here’s a shot of the green and yellow portions of the page.

IMG_4678

I popped up the entire Cut Out on foam tape so it was fun to tuck and layer things into it.  This collection has the cutest phrase pieces and it was so much fun to embellish.

IMG_4679

To finish off this layout, I added in some Epoxy Hearts and Matte Enamel Dots.  I love how colorful this page turned out!  Not a bad way to celebrate and document being a Dog Mom!

IMG_4680

Thank you so much for stopping by and I hope that I’ve inspired you in some way today!  I hope you’re able to spend the day loving on your furry babies!

May 2022 Color Kitz | Shimmerz Paints Color Kitz Team

Hey friends! I’m here today for the Shimmerz Paints Color Kitz Team sharing a new layout using the super gorgeous May 2022 Color Kitz!  It’s so bright and happy, you’ll want to use it to document all of your Summer memories.  Here’s my layout, make sure to check out my process video at the end of this post:

I thought it would be fun to change it up a bit and I only used the positive pieces from the title cut file.  I painted each one using the colors from the kit and outlined them in black faux stitching to make sure they stood out from everything else.

I popped them all up on foam tape and set them aside.  It’s such a fun phrase for a title!

One more photo of the letters:

Next, I created my background by spraying the Vibez Palm Reader and painting on the Shimmerz Here I Yam around the page.  I spritzed water and let the colors run and blend.  I even added a bit of the Creameez For Shore for some extra shimmer.

I took one of the lemon cluster cut files and offset the inner lemon pieces so that they were sized perfectly when I went to back it.  I painted them using the Coloringz No Yoking and Inklingz Meet Me @ Sunset.  I painted the leaves using Palm Reader.

After everything was adhered down, I matted my photo and put it down next to my cut file title.  I added some ephemera and included one of the Dotz.

Here’s another cluster:

One more final shot of this fun layout:

Thank you so much for stopping by today, I hope that I’ve inspired you in some way!  Make sure to add my name to the notes/comments section of all of your Shimmerz orders and you’ll receive a free gift!  See you next month friends!

Whisk It Good | Pinkfresh Studio Creative Team

Hey friends! I’m here today for the Pinkfresh Studio CT sharing a new layout using the Life Right Now collection.  I love the kitchen elements in this collection and thought they’d be great to use to document a photo I took of my youngest son making a coffee drink we saw trending on Instagram back in March of 2020.  I have a lot of everyday photos similar to this one that the Life Right Now collection would be perfect for!  Here’s my layout:

I love getting creative and finding different ways to use product.  I was going through my Pinkfresh die sets and pulled out the Folk Edge Square set.  I thought it would be fun to create a layered background by die cutting the squares into frames, turning them on their sides and arranging them in the center of the page.  I made sure to layer them to give it a fun look.

I adhered them all down to a piece of white cardstock and then got out the Summer Shower and Candy Violet ink pads and did a bit of watercoloring directly onto the frames.

To add a bit of pattern to the rest of the page, I cut pieces of the B side from the Time To Chill 12×12 patterned paper and adhered them down to the top right and bottom left corners.  I then cut a few of the leaves from the Curvy Leaves die set on green and white cardstock and layered some Floral Ephemera with them.

Here’s the bottom corner:

I matted my photo with a piece of scrap patterned paper and arranged some Ephemera around it.  I love how both ephemera pieces have shelves and they look great with the photo since it’s taken in my kitchen.  I fussy cut a few windows from the Happy Place 12×12 patterned paper and layered those in my photo cluster as well.

I created my title using the Puffy Alphas and nestled it right under my photo.  As some finishing touches, I added a few Puffy Stickers and Essential Jewels in Glacier.

Thank you so much for stopping by today and I hope that I’ve inspired you in some way!  I’ll see you in my next post friends!

Fun In The Sun | Simple Stories Design Team

Hey friends! I’m here today for the Simple Stories DT sharing a new layout using the amazing Summer Lovin’ collection! Summer is my favorite season and I am so ready for it. This collection has the perfect embellishments to document all of your favorite summertime memories! Here’s my layout, don’t forget to check out the process video I have linked down at the end of this post:

I really enjoy making shaker elements on my pages and I was super inspired to create one using the Chipboard Frames. I chose the one that had two frames connected so that I could create a shaker in one and layer my photos on the other. To create the shaker, I trimmed and adhered a piece of acetate to the back of the left frame to create my window. I then took narrow foam strips and applied them down around the perimeter of the frame (still working on the backside) to create a place for my sequin mix to sit. I removed the backing from all of the foam strips and carefully spooned in my sequin mix into the shaker. To seal it up, I took a piece of vellum that was large enough to back my shaker and pressed it firmly down on the foam strips. If you want to seal it even more, feel free to add some liquid adhesive to your foam strips before placing the vellum down. Then, trim off any excess vellum, turn your shaker over and voila! Super simple shaker!
I love creating simple mixed media backgrounds using stencils and ink pads. I took the Retro Daisy stencil from the collection and ink blended through it with Distress Oxide inks in blue tones. My photo is of my son at the beach in Hawaii and I wanted those blue hues to match the gorgeous water and sky in the photo. I trimmed the white cardstock and adhered it to the Simply Paradise 12×12 patterned paper to create a fun border and to also add another pop of that blue. When you back your shaker elements with vellum you still get to see what’s behind it whether it’s a mixed media background or patterned paper. I love that!

I matted my photo using a few of the 6×8 patterned papers and layered them up on the right frame. I made sure to add some foam tape behind them to ensure all of my layers were even and supported. I am loving how colorful this page is!

I chose one of the Foam Stickers phrases as my title and adhered it down right under the frames. It nestled perfectly in that space.

To create my embellishment clusters, I pulled out the Bits + Pieces, Puffy Stickers, Sticker Book and Decorative Brads. I added some twine to a few of the little tags and created a cluster to the left frame. I love tucking and layering, it’s my favorite part of creating. What’s yours?
Here’s one last shot of this super fun layout! I wish I was at the beach right now!
Thank you so much for stopping by today and I hope that I’ve inspired you in some way! Do you like to create shakers? They are so fun and simple and I hope that you give it a go. The chipboard frames are a perfect product to get you started! See you in my next post friends!

Keep Smiling | Elle’s Studio April Guest Designer

Hey friends! I’m here today for Elle’s Studio sharing my last layout as the April Guest Designer. I have LOVED working with the April Kit and all of the newly released products. It’s been an absolute treat to be here and I want to thank both Elle and Meghann for having me! Let’s get to my layout, don’t forget to check out my process video that’s linked at the end of this post:

I love all of the patterned paper in The Best Paper 6×8.5 paper stack and really wanted to showcase all of the lovely patterns. My go to way of doing this is by creating a grid. I love grid designs because it’s so fun to treat each shape like its own little layout. I cut 3×3 squares using some of the patterned paper, distressed the edges, popped them up on foam tape and adhered them all down to a piece of white cardstock. I even added a doodled border around each one using a black gel pen. Here’s one of the squares. I layered up a few of the April Die Cuts along with both the Floral and Heart and Stars Puffy stickers.

Here’s another square. I fussy cut a few of the circular elements from one of the 6×8.5 patterned papers to use an additional embellishments.

For my title, I pulled out the Big Hugs Stamp and Die and chose the “Keep Smiling” phrase. I stamped it out using black ink to pull more of the black from when I outlined each square. I matted my photo with a scrap paper from the paper stack and adhered my title right on top of my photo. I put it in the center of my page and love how that stamped phrase just really pops off of the page.

Next, I added my journaling directly onto one of the 3×3 squares and using the Fuchsia Puffy Alphas, I added the year on one of the circle pieces I cut out.
I love labels and label shape die cuts and Elle’s Studio really comes through on both! They carry so many great layering bits and it makes me so happy. Tucking and layering are one of my favorite parts of putting together a page.
Here’s one last shot of this super fun grid design:

Thank you so much for stopping by today and I hope that I’ve inspired you in some way! Do you like to add a lot of patterns to your layouts and do you enjoy working with grid designs?  It’s a lot of fun seeing them come together and I really enjoy embellishing on all of the separate grid pieces. Thank you again for being here and I hope you have a great day!

On The Go | Bella Blvd Creative Team

Hey friends!  I’m here today for the Bella Blvd Creative Team and I’m so excited to share a new layout with y’all! This is my first project featuring the brand new Time To Travel collection and I had SO much fun creating it.  I love traveling even if it’s just a quick road trip! There’s something exciting about picking up and going on a fun adventure.  This collection has so many great elements that are perfect for all of your traveling memories.  Here’s my page and make sure to check out my process video that’s linked at the end of this post:

IMG_3848

Today, I’m documenting a photo of me on a recent trip to Illinois, where I taught at the Erica Rose Creates Creative Spring Weekend.  The photo is of me on a plane and I’m definitely smiling behind my mask!  I was super inspired to turn the geotags from the I Love Travel Cut Outs pack into shakers.  I backed each one with acetate, applied my foam around the perimeter and poured in some seed beads.  I love how they turned out!

IMG_3849

Next, I took the planes from that same Cut Outs pack and backed them with the Graph and Dot in Oyster.  I also added in some shading using a gray ink pad to give it more interest.  On each geotag, I took matching Florence Alphas in Ice, Peep and Bell Pepper and spelled out the airports that I stopped at along my trip.

IMG_3850

I used each geotag as a placement for all of my embellishment clusters and added ephemera, chipboard stickers and puffy stickers to each of them.  I wanted to create somewhat of a “globe” type background so I traced a paper plate on the Love This Place 12×12 patterned paper and trimmed it out.  I backed it with the Graph & Dot patterned paper in Bell Pepper and cut around it so that I had a bit of that yellow popping out.  Next, I adhered it down to the Blueberry ombré side from Hearts & Ombre using some foam tape for extra dimension.

3749FEE7-2BB0-4DEC-AC95-433EBF5A121E

For my title, I chose a phrase from the Ciao Chip chipboard stickers and finished the layout off with some white paint splatters.

Thank you so much for stopping by today and I hope that I’ve inspired you in some way!  Have you had a chance to pick up this amazing collection yet?  There’s an unboxing video over on the Bella YT channel, so make sure to check it out!  See you next time friends!

A Beautiful Day | Pinkfresh Studio Creative Team

Hey friends!  I’m here today for the Pinkfresh Studio Creative Team sharing a new layout using the Happy Heart collection.  This collection makes me so happy!  The colors and florals are just amazing!  Here’s my page:

I’ve been wanting to use the gorgeous Artistic Blossoms die set and thought this page would be perfect to add them to.  I die cut them a few different times on white textured cardstock and then ink blended several different ink pad colors on them. I used Evergreen for all of the stems and then chose ApricotMintTidal Pond and Coral Reef for the flowers.  I then added some Stickles from my stash to give each one some sparkle.

Here’s another shot of those super pretty blossoms:

I used a piece of white textured cardstock as my base and layered up some of the Patterned Paper from the collection right on top.  I created different layers of each paper by using a border punch for one and tearing another piece to get that rough edge.  I adhered them all down and ran my page through my sewing machine a few times.  I love matting my photos with vellum so I did that and then layered a few of the Chipboard Frame stickers right under it.

I created my title using the Title Ephemera as well as the Mini Alpha stickers.  I love how colorful the title piece is.

I embellished using the Floral Ephemera as well as a few of the Cardstock stickers.  I love tucking and layering bits into my clusters.  It’s one of my favorite parts of creating a layout.

As a finishing touch, I added in a few Enamel Dots and some gold spray from my stash.  I love the layers and dimension on the page, it makes me so happy!

Thank you so much for stopping by the blog today and I hope that I’ve inspired you in some way!  I’ll see you in my next post friends!
